Select the glass and adhesives
When buying a new auto glass, make sure people know the store brand and model of your car.
You’ll also need adhesives. Refer to friend’s shops for the best type of adhesive for you. Stickers may vary from one place to another and from one vehicle to another. Because the adhesive must be strong enough to keep things intact with the weather in the area, make sure you have the right stuff. Stickers also have the very important task to keep you safe, keeping your auto glass in place in case of accident.
Remove the Auto Glass
Start by removing the old systematic windshield. If everything is in one piece, be sure to disconnect all before groping to separate ends. If you have broken into several pieces, hand covers, or wear gloves before removing very small pieces. After removing the old car glass, clean all dirt and oil in the area around which the old adhesive used to be.
Install the new Auto Glass
Follow the instructions on the packaging or manual for the adhesive you have selected. Some adhesives need to be dried before they can be combined with glass, while others need to be united as soon as possible so that they can bind well with the camera body and auto glass.
Following the instructions, apply adhesive and place the new auto glass in place. Most adhesives have at least a day to dry completely and unite the two materials. Make sure you allow for material to properly cure time.
Often, the defective windshield derived from wet adhesive between the two surfaces, producing a weak point. This can be avoided by applying a rubber gasket around the edge of the glass of the car. Install the rubber after the glue has dried. The rubber will provide an additional limit to prevent moisture has direct access to the adhesive edge of the glass.
