The best and worst cars market visibility

The Organization of Consumers and Users has developed a ranking with models sold in the Spanish market that offer best and worst visibility.

When talking about road safety often tends to focus on technologies that increasingly (thankfully) more cars incorporate both active and passive safety. But there elements simpler and equally important vehicle and one of them is the visibility. Help see what surrounds the vehicle is key and often forgotten. In many of the vehicles passing through our section of test cars we see that manufacturers often this aspect for design, today a selling more key.

Now, the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) have made public a study that reveals what the cars are best and worst visibility. For the laboratory OCU 1,200 vehicles have passed since 2006, the year began using a new method of analysis.

OCU visibility measured cars by a camera. The standing eye level of a driver of 1.74 meters high and from there gets a 360 degree panoramic image. Then that picture is transferred to a computer, which locates which are hidden from the view of a person surfaces. A simple but effective system, you see (there will be drivers heights, with visual defects … but the pattern followed is the same for seven years, which is important.

It has come to my attention the revelations coming from the OCU. According to their scales, so far no car has obtained the maximum possible. And over half barely a rating of “acceptable”. They have not published the entire list, but a ranking with models sold in the Spanish market better, and worse, visibility offered. Here is the list of the ten best and ten worst as the visibility they offer.
